What is the setting you would like to save?

Maybe try if this old solution helps...
But back it up (rename it), do not just delete!

I want to change the screen blank time to never and power button behavior to power off.

That didn't help. I forgot to backup the folder xD, but I will get my settings back to normal.

I can confirm this is not working. It is just as you describe @Aplicat0r, the setting allows to be changed but when you close/reopen settings or navigate to another panel in settings and switch back, the changed setting reverts.

I do see someone raised an issue last week for this here: gnome-settings Power Screen Blank locked in 5 min and can't change it in Arch Linux (#709) ยท Issues ยท GNOME / gnome-settings-daemon ยท GitLab

The bug report contains a shocking lack of detail and it looks like it hasn't been touched in a week, so I wouldn't hold my breath for the fix. :face_with_diagonal_mouth:

In the meanwhile, you can configure these settings from the terminal with gsettings. It's sort of a clunky way to change settings in Gnome, but it is reliable. man gsettings if you want to fall down the rabbit hole. :smirk:

gsettings set org.gnome.desktop.session idle-delay 0
gsettings set org.gnome.settings-daemon.plugins.power power-button-action interactive

I hope that helps! :slightly_smiling_face:
