I’m having issues with getting Unified remote server working in Garuda Linux. (This is probably an issue on how im installing/extracting the program.

After downloading the 64 portable bit archive from here:

i can extract the folder to /home/user/Downloads/urserver-3.13.0.2505/

but after i double click the urserver execuable icon nothing happens. I’ve used it in windows before and after it installs it gives you a server ip address and you can set the up on the mobile app (i’m using android 12 if it matters) thanks in advanced!

It,s in the aur repo
just install it from there

Welcome to Garuda Linux!

For Arch Linux and other Arch-based distributions like Garuda and Endeavour, we don’t normally download a file straight off the site like Windows unless there is really no other choice, because then you need to convert the package for Arch to understand. It also makes it harder to update because you need to do it manually every time.

It’s always best to check the Arch Linux Repositories. You can use tools like Pacseek, pacman -Ss package-name or directly check the websites:
Main repos:
https://archlinux.org/

Arch User Repository:
https://aur.archlinux.org/

TilliDie’s answer will definitely get you the package you need. This info is a supplement to help you in the future when it comes to finding and installing packages

Have fun, and if you have any questions feel free to ask.
