Garuda Xfce freezes frequently because my PC has too little memory, cannot be updated

My system freezes often when I am using e.g. Firefox maybe due to graphics driver. I am using nouveau driver for Nvidia graphics card; alternative would be now unsupported nvidia-340 I guess. Suspend to RAM does not work either; it just seems to blank screen and thereafter nothing works and I can not resume.

Another issue is that I can not upgrade system. I click on the shield in the panel and start upgrade, but it fails after long time downloading and whatnot with error dialog just stating "Failed to commit transaction".

We can't help without logfile from terminal.
Did you search in forum about?
Did you refresh the mirrorlist?

As always post your inxi -Faz.

Which logfile do you mean? Do I have to refresh mirrorlist each time even If I use the presented graphical tool for updating?

Xfce, aha, than use in terminal

sudo reflector --country Germany --latest 5 --age 2 --fastest 5 --protocol https --sort rate --save /etc/p

By more RAM, fixed the freezes.

I told Xfce in the title. What is the command you gave?

sorry, copy paste mistake, refresh mirrors and update you system

sudo reflector --country Germany --latest 5 --age 2 --fastest 5 --protocol https --sort rate --save /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist && cat /etc/pacman.d/mirrorlist && sudo pacman -Syu'

IDK that Xfce don’t use the upd alias in .bashrc

I suppose the last single quote was a typo.

Now you have used upd from /usr/bin/update.

You have server/ISP problems. Try again later without the ’ in my post above.

Use also forum search function.

Minimum requirements

  • 30 GB storage space

* 4 GB RAM

  • Video card with OpenGL 3.3 or better
  • 64-bit system

I did not use ' even before. I don't know about OpenGL 3.3. Do you mean my system does not have enough RAM to run update? What is DL page?

glxinfo | grep "OpenGL version"
OpenGL version string: 4.6.0 NVIDIA 465.31

You can update but freezes came from less RAM.
