Garuda Settings Manager not running

Through the update from hwinfo version 25.0-1 from 17.07 garuda-settings-manager
don’t like to run.

╰─λ /usr/bin/garuda-settings-manager
/usr/bin/garuda-settings-manager: error while loading shared libraries: libhd.so.24: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

Downgrade hwinfo to version 24.0-1 can temporary fix this

Sorry Garuda Team i use your manager… :upside_down_face:

Hwinfo or Hwifno2? the later is what should now be installed.

?? This soory..doesn’t exist. :face_with_peeking_eye:
I go with hwinfo :upside_down_face:
…a fork exist on github , only my knowledge

Needs a rebuild… Let’s see whether I can do it from mobile.

Tzzzzz :grimacing:

Edit: while I could do it from mobile, the build failed. I remember the reason for our new hardware profiles. We can’t build that package anymore (missing dep, and effort for porting is too costly).. it’ll be officially dropped later today when bringing to new profiles to everyone, I’m sorry to bring bad news

@gampel what’s the thing you’re using it for specifically? I’ll be adding the missing hardware profiles to Rani soon..

Yes..bad news …but time goes on…

The “old” Garuda Welcome with all the stuff behind works well.
The look and feel is more then ok (but not important and is also a matter of taste)
The work for me with this is kiss principle
(i know the probs with qt stuff and some other)

garuda-rani is for me under construction …
perhaps it’s only my head. I’m too old to change or what ever and perhaps a not so good decision to type like this.
For me sorry no kiss principle… but know we have rani.
the look and feel (own taste, not my taste but not important)
The work inside…well .. i mean..a little bit to do if it`s a swiss knife. (only my mind)
example: if you take a look for aur packages..you will find current ? ( i think there on pacseek + octopi search and new user takes only a look in rani)
other example: a inside gui for systemd services to look and change these settings:+1:
And think on it, if you came with earlier live iso installed… default rani does not exist.

Let me also say:
Your work for this app is :+1:
to develop this app in such a short time, without big errors …hats off (i think on your university stuff during this time)

Yes, I agree these are very valid points. Qt is more lightweight as well, for example.
But even though there are drawbacks (I also don’t like Electron that much..), it is the most efficient way for me personally to get value out to people in adequate time.
I’ve had this discussion with a friend before.
Wish I had more time on my hands to get it to a “finished” state more quickly.

It will, in fact, be very soon. We’ll replace settings manager with it.

Thanks! @TNE also helped here btw.

Edit: here it is btw: Modern Garuda Linux hardware profiles to automatically replace legacy profiles, Garuda Settings Manager & MHWD deprecation
