I had uninstalled Garuda to try some other distributions before but decided to switch to Garuda recently. I installed it yesterday night and it was working nicely. But today, I came from school and when i opened my laptop, opened Garuda in dual boot and entered my pin, it just showed like a black screen and got me back to the log in page. It keeps happening. please help. My laptop has Intel Core i5-7200U CPU with AMD Radeon 520 GPU and I installed linux alongside Windows 10 in the same drive.
Please post your garuda-inxi
as requested by the template.
Cold boot or waking up from sleep/hibernate/suspend?
Use live ISO to post the garuda-inxi.
Did you update?
Which DE?
Hyprland?
Restore last working snapshot.
Cold boot. I have a dead battery so it dies when the power cable is disconnected.
We still don’t know which DE you are using.
If KDE/SDDM and you are using Wayland by default, try logging in with an x11 session (or vice versa) → Login Screen → Desktop Session (bottom left).
Try booting into a TTY (Ctrl + Alt + F3) and updating your system with sudo pacman -Syu
. If that doesn’t work, you might need to reinstall GPU drivers (sudo mhwd -a pci free 0300
).
TTY is a good hint, maybe we get some error log, but then use garuda-update
(update,upd).
For GPU we need the garuda-inxi
first.
BTW, without, I will close this thread.
The template ask about, like nepti and me and @Laplace did not answer.
But perhaps it has already been solved and we are making a fuss about it for nothing.
Im using the dragonized edition
