Hi

That is something new :wink: Many User`s asking how to disable it on every Boot btw . Did you checked this in Rani own Settings ?

do you have a file here called org.garudalinux.rani.desktop

/home/yourusername/.config/autostart/

Did you searched for it in the Forum here? Just as info and reverse it ?

i read that post u mentioned… i did everything including the post what covered (i reversed to autostart) also checked in my .config

ls .config/autostart/
.rw-r--r-- 157 arij  2 Jun 11:13  garuda-rani.desktop
.rwxr-xr-x 401 arij  8 Mar 01:55  initial-setup.sh
.rw------- 287 arij  1 Jun 05:35  org.garudalinux.rani.desktop

so i find all things are ok and should be worked but its not working thats why. any idea? or solution?

Hi,

i can approve this behavior. I deleted the garuda-rani script file and rebooted. Garuda Rani was starting after the login no problems. If i reboot it didnt work again. I checked the autostart and the script was again created in the Folder. So just for fun i deleted it and reboot it worked again. Seems like Garuda Rani create this file after the successful start after login and this causes the behavior.

Please wait for @dr460nf1r3 may he have the answer for it :wink:

i can see this here but i cant copy or paste it may it helps @dr460nf1r3

It’s likely that KDE and the app itself create 2 different files for autostart. As for the crash.. it’ll very likely be fixed with the rewrite that’s currently ongoing. I’m dedicating resources here instead of fixing this one, that’s more useful imo. Just make sure to not have two autostart entries for the time being?

Can you guys check why Randi likes to break 3rd party repos? I add Cachy and Reborn repo cause they each have items the other repos don’t but if you refresh the mirrors using Randi it breaks those repos making one have to readd them. Currently I’ve been continuing to use Garuda Assistant which doesn’t have the issue.

Thanks for your answering.

I did test a bit now with those 2 files to delete it single of them and reboot no effort at this but i found out just simple thing uncheck the autostart in Rani Settings and it will work. :wink:

Do not delete any files in the .config folder this uncheck remove the created file from Rani in this Folder.

I dont need Rani as autostart App at all i just start it if i need it :wink: @arijarman

just this here :wink:

Aaah yes that makes perfect sense haha. Autostart is a setting. If it’s true, Rani will restore the state at startup in case the autostart file got deleted and vice versa:

const currentAutoStart: boolean = await isEnabled();
      if (currentAutoStart && !settings.autoStart) {
        this.logger.debug('Syncing auto start setting with system: enable');
        void disable();
      } else if (!currentAutoStart && settings.autoStart) {
        this.logger.debug('Syncing auto start setting with system: disable');
        void enable();
      }

Its fine if its working now .

If it stop working again uncheck it in rani settings or disable it that it is not glowing purple like it shows in my picture.

You didnt have to reinstall the whole system.
