Garuda Network Mngr & Boot Options not opening

Garuda network manager/garuda boot options/network settings and others are not opening. Cannot run anything in Garuda Assistant nor uninstall games from Garuda Gamer. Previous issue listed here is fixed, now the OS is not responding properly when trying to modify network settings, remove preinstalled games, or access those settings. GRUB delay was manually changed via console, but no other changes have been made.

@MANTISxB was the one controlling my previous post and handling my issues. I'm way less linux-literate as he is so he will help me to understand some of the replies.

It looks like some other changes have been made. :smirk:

What other terminals are installed? Some of the Garuda Assistant tools are only supported by certain terminals.

While Wildcard is at work, I can add onto this a little as I was there for the External HDD issue was the one talking typing here through her account.

On a fresh install after the ExHDD was removed, the issue was present. Prior to update, when trying to open Garuda Boot Manager/Network Manager the screens would appear briefly, then close. On rare occassions Alacritty would open show an error and close before i was able to see what it was.

The PC was then Updated fully. Issue still persisted.

Not sure if it matters, adding in case: CMOS died (Time off in BIOS) and that was fixed earlier today. One of the errors i found related to a timecode error, so we stopped all attempts at fixing anything until the CMOS was replaced, just in case.

Alacritty and Konsole should both still be installed, kitty was recommended by me a while back as ive been using it on my system for a pretty long time. (Didnt know it would cause issues, my Garuda Boot Manager and Network manager both open Alacritty when run. Same when hitting F4 in dolphin, alacritty opens up, kitty only with a shortcut.)

Thank you all again for the help. Just trying to get her system stable so we can play games again. This forum and the people in it are amazing.

It’s no problem to use Kitty, or any terminal emulator you like! Those specific programs only work with certain ones; as long as you haven’t uninstalled them all (at least one needs to be in there) it shouldn’t be a problem.

Try launching the programs from the terminal; maybe the output will offer some clues as to what is happening.

Mantis at wildcards place here.

sudo garuda-boot-options

will bring up the garuda boot options, but in white for some reason. WITHOUT sudo i get "You must run this program as root"

sudo garuda-network-assistant

Same thing, brings them up in all white but they do open. Without sudo i get "You must run this program as root"

Does seem the network manager and boot options to function as intended when run with sudo.

Redownloaded the file from the downloads page and reinstalled after wiping the SSD first. Everything works. Thank you all for the help!
