Garuda Linux Sway Installer Crashes after closing it initially

Hello everyone,

I have been trying to install Garuda Linux Sway, and the problem I am facing is that the installer does not start after closing it initially when the live session boots up. I close the installer first after live session boots up to connect to wifi, so that I can install it completely. Instead, nothing happens when I click on “Install Garuda Linux”. After looking around here, I found out that the executable is named calamares, and after trying to run calamares as normal user, I get the error in the installer that installer is not running with admin rights.

After running “sudo calamares”, I get this error:

Authorization required, but no authorization protocol specified

qt.qpa.xcb: could not connect to display :0
qt.qpa.plugin: Could not load the Qt platform plugin "xcb" in "" even though it was found.
This application failed to start because no Qt platform plugin could be initialized. Reinstalling the application may fix this problem.

Available platform plugins are: eglfs, linuxfb, minimal, minimalegl, offscreen, vnc, wayland-egl, wayland, wayland-xcomposite-egl, wayland-xcomposite-glx, xcb.

fish: Job 1, 'sudo calamares' terminated by signal SIGABRT (Abort)

I did install the system with the first installer that installs without internet, but after booting up I was getting a whole lot of other issues like keyring not detected, some arch PGP keys/signature or something was getting corrupted and if I want to remove it, and then after removing it it was asking me to add some PGP keyring/signature of sorts back again, and whole sorts of other problems. I am unsure if that problem is related to this, if that is not the case I will make a separate issue about that.

Here is also my garuda-inxi

Try that with

sudo -E calamares

Try

garuda-update remote fix

for that.

Also please don’t put your garuda-inxi in a summary tag in future as mentioned in the template.

Hello, thank you for your reply and sorry about that, I remember reading in some post to write garuda-inxi with “hide details”, which is what I did. I will edit that out. with -E I was able to install successfully, and the remote fix command fixed everything else. Thank you so much for your help!
