Flashed BIOS after that no Internet Access

On 20 Feb 23 i flashed my BIOS MSI H610M -G MOBO to latest bios dated 9 jan 23
and after booting up garuda os every thing worked fine except I was not connected to the Internet even though my lan was connected .

Finally after troubleshooting for a while i took a backup and did windows, in short there everything worked fine.

Again did garuda OS but to no avail NO INTERNET ACCESS but i was able to connect to internet using my mobile phone via usb tethering ... updated garuda os but something got corrupted idk why and i got keyring issues to avoid the problem of troubleshooting further

Reinstalled Garuda OS, successfully updated(via usb tethering) up and running but NO internet access via ethernet port.

Since yesterday have tried a lot of recommendations but to no avail .

Attaching my garuda Inxi there you can see under Network that my port and driver and displaying NA and i really don't know why.

Garuda Inxi Output

at beginning let's check driver did load correctly,

lspci -k | grep "Network controller"

to find a bus number of the network controller, then use following command

lspci -sv [bus number]

let's see the result of those commands !!

hi there:grinning:, through setup assistant had selected LTS mainline already but no results.

first command gave error still tried second one on it

╭─ad@adpc in ~
╰─λ lspci -k | grep "Network controller"

╭─ad@adpc in ~ took 22ms
[[]|[🔴]] => 🔴ERROR × lspci -sv [bus number]
lspci: -s: Invalid slot number

we will go slowly, use this command

sudo lspci -k | grep "Ethernet controller"

Alright!

so i can understand the kernel do not find your wireless interface, because his driver do not exist.
have you disabled wireless interface into bios ??
if you have dualboot, boot your second OS and check wireless work properly througth this os.

 Alright Got It!

wireless interface? I'm not connecting any wifi dongle .... i've just connected lan cable to cpu and both lights on my lan port are on but there is no internet access.... and i haven't dualboot...

ok install lshw package pacman -S lshw and let's see

lshw -c network

and also this

sudo lspci -s 00:1f.6 -v

normaly if a driver was installed for your ethernet interface, internet accès would work

Ok so you don't have wireless interface but your ethernet interface do not have driver.
because in the result of second command i cannot see the text "kernel driver in use".
check on google how install driver for "Ethernet Connection (17) I219-V"

Yes so how to fix that ? I did windows and ethernet was working working fine...
actually i zeroed upon a realtek driver earlier which is tar.bz2 file how to install that maybe it can help plus

i also searched driver for e1000e module and got a tar.gz file... from intel website

alright i'll search that on web.

From M$ do not restart, do power off, in BIOS remove secure and fastboot. M$ like it to hold hardware away from Linux
