Fingerprint Reader

Hello world, I think this is one of my first post if not the first. First, good to be here. Second, my question would be, I’d like to get my fingerprint working. I am using the gnome version on my #Lenovo #Thinkpad #X1 #Carbon. Long story short, I activated the fingerprint reader via gnome settings. The sad part is, that only works for logging into the computer not for the root system. Sadly that means that everytime I’d like to install a software or remove another one, technically administrative privileges in general, the fingerprint does not work. Any help?

Here is my inxi -Faz

I am sure there is a way, cause other Linux Distro makes it work.

Any help and kind answer would be greatly appreciate it.

Thank you.

Have a read through this wiki page:

There are several files that you'll need to edit depending on which services etc. you want to use fingerprint as an authentication method.
