KERNEL PANIC
cannot find root file system
I rebooted and got a penguin pic with the above.
I rebooted and chose fallback initramfs - and it booted!
What now??
Thatโs not good! Could you share the entire kernel panic? If needed, you can upload a picture to a third party image hosting service.
Heya! It should be fine after you run
sudo dracut-rebuild && sudo update-grub
Happy Garudaing!
Thanks, I ran those commands.
Should I be concerned about this print:
/usr/bin/grub-probe: warning: unknown device type nvme0n1.
VeniceAI says:
" The warning message โunknown device type nvme0n1โ from grub-probe during the update-grub process is not typically a cause for concern. This warning appears because the grub-probe tool is trying to determine the type of the nvme0n1 device, which is a Non-Volatile Memory Express (NVMe) device, and it doesnโt have a specific handler for NVMe devices."
I wont reboot to test just yet. I have an important issue to deal with and need the laptop up. I will confirm success (or issue) later.
Thanks again!
Please do not use so-called AI to solve OS problems. In most cases, it is wrong.
You can ignore the message. See here.
Successful reboot confirmed after running:
