External Monitor not working after install of Spizaetus

My external monitor quit working after reinstalling system with latest Spizaetus iso. I had issue with prior iso as well but installing nvidia.dkms resolved the issue but installing after reinstalling system didn’t resolve this tiime. I have 2 physical disks in my system one with garuda and one with windows (external display works with windows)

The ‘swoosh’ indicates you first need to reboot since your update. Please do so then report back. Happy 2024. :slight_smile:

Try using x11 at login see if that resolves it

I am rebuilding my system and have rebooted may times. I just went upstairs rebooted with the monitor plugged into the HDMI and rebooted and still no external monitor.

I tried X11 and it worked but wayland used to work and wayland is my preferred . Looks like I have a work around till it can be fixed for wayland.

Maybe in wayland you could try the following kernel boot parameter:
nvidia-drm.modeset=1
With e.g.

sudo cp /etc/default/grub /etc/default/grub.bak && sudo sed '/^GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX_DEFAULT=/s/"$/ nvidia-drm.modeset=1 "/g' -i /etc/default/grub && sudo update-grub
