I have installed both the KDE (Dragonized) and Gnome versions of Garuda and both have an optional post installation step 'Install additional [KDE / GNOME] applications' but there is no further explanation or list of packages (at least that I could see).
Is there an easy way to see what packages are installed by this step? Does this step refer to a specific metapackage?
Have you checked to see if detailed on the gitlab?

Wow KDE installs a bunch more additional packages compared to GNOME, but I suppose this is inline with the philosophies of each DE.
Actually most of these are redundant as they are installed anyway, gotta clean this up

Is there a way to see just the additional/new packages that would be installed?

If you point me to a list of the packages that are installed by default during installation, I would be happy to manually cross-reference and put together a list of only the differences. I imagine there is a smarter more automated way to accomplish this but I am a luddite…

After almost 2 hours and a few failures, I managed to get Flightgear up and running on Garuda KDE.

I was wondering how to get my hands on riseup email, and thanks to this guy I now know that riseup-vpn exists. It’s one of the first FOSS VPN’s, so we should definitely add this and recommend it in case someone needs a VPN.

Extra sausages (German idiom) have to be cooked by yourself.
You can get Riseup-VPN via the Snap-Store. Garuda supports that.

You can use whatever you want but flatpack and snapcraft are not supported by Garuda.
