Did GNOME 40 break Pamac Package Manager?

I just installed the latest Garuda GNOME ISO on my laptop and when browsing in Add/Remove Software all Categories are empty (Feature, Photo & Video, Music..., etc.). I can browse software under Groups and Repositories, and also under Installed, but nothing under Categories. I am running Garuda KDE on my desktop and I don't have that problem on KDE.

Short answer: GNOME 40 didn't break Pamac.

Long answer: Sometimes Pamac doesn't show applications.

This is the fix:

  1. sudo downgrade archlinux-appstream-data
  2. Accept when downgrade asks if you want to add this package to ignore list.

This thread says:

so that’s worth a try.
