Dealing with pacnew files

Hello everyone!!
I'm trying to figure out how to merge my pacnew files the easiest way possible since I never really did it xD

But since I'm a very common user and I don't know how to do much, I found this package named p3wm (through a post on the forum)(github.com/5long/p3wm) that says it can merge the stuff automatically, tho I'm not sure, do y'all think it's worth it or it's just way more simple learning the manual way?

If you do think that, pleassseee can you explain to me how to do so in the most clear way possible? I'm really affraid of messing this up and what I found so far was not really of much help on how to do it, mostly explained to me that doing it is important :V

But honestly I'm preferring automated solutions ^^"

Thanks in advance ~

Best is to learn/read.
Use

 ╭─sgs@i3 in ~
 ╰─λ alias | grep pacdif
alias pacdif 'sudo -H DIFFPROG=meld pacdiff'

=

sudo -H DIFFPROG=meld pacdiff

in terminal.

You got this to check

Search in forum or ask if you are not sure what to merge. Don't hope to get a copy and paste answer.

Never use automatic. Please.

Oh thank you so much!! It's a bazillion times simples than I thought it would be, thanks again for the support!

And now to reboot and see if I didn't break anything with the merges xD although it seems very unlikely O~O

Oops, @SGS I got this now:

sudo pacman -Syyu
:: Synchronizing package databases...
error: failed to synchronize all databases (no servers configured for repository)

Use

upd

No need for yy .

Alright then, everything looks fine with upd

But shouldn't that have worked anyway? Just asking tho : p

I think it only works when the mirrors are set up, but I am not a pacman guru.
I only know that upd works
