--- System Health Check Report ---
23/24 checks run in 0.91 seconds ⌛
Powered by garuda-health 🦅
--- INFO ---
- A reboot is pending (update applied since last reboot)
✅ System health check passed. No issues found.
The reboot showed up right after trying to install this package. FYI I’m running the app image which works fine
I’d recommend you to continue with appimage for now. I tested in a clean chroot and got further, but it failed for other reasons. You should have nodejs 25.1.0 but it shows 20.19.5. Maybe you have an LTS version installed for something else. This is part of why it’s not ready to be added to Chaotic-AUR.
Steam Native deprecation notice
You will see steam-native-runtime is now a Foreign/AUR package when updating, as it has been moved to the AUR and is without a maintainer. It should be removed, along with its dependencies. Notice the optional dependencies when removing! In case you were relying on an AUR or self-built package with incorrect dependencies which were incidentally fulfilled by Steam Native, it will be helpful to know which packages you may need to reinstall. This mainly applies to relatively old & obscure audio applications.
sudo pacman -Rs steam-native-runtime
The Steam Troubleshooting wiki has been updated accordingly to indicate that you can manually change the runtime, though it shouldn’t really be needed going forward.
Running that wanted to remove steam for me ![]()
I marked steam as explicitly installed using:
sudo pacman -D --asexplicit steam
Then removed steam-native-runtime :
sudo pacman -R steam-native-runtime
then cleaned up unused packages with:
cleanup
Updated with:
garuda-update
and rebooted.
Just a reminder to favorite (also pin and whatever) the regular Steam program, since the Steam Native one will be gone.
Thank you for this info. I was wondering why I was compiling all these steam dependencies from AUR. ![]()
I have identified and fixed a bug in the bump system we had in place, which prevented a bump even though it was correctly recognized as needing one.
Hello. Not sure if this is the right place, but I think so? I am wondering what is the process for getting a package from the AUR moved into Chaotic AUR?
It would be awesome for this one to be added ![]()
Interesting app. I’m not an Eve player, but I definitely see the value! Unfortunately, this package wouldn’t be used by very many people, and it’s a rather large binary. Further complicating addition the license states:
Reproduction and Distribution: Licensee may not duplicate or redistribute copies of the Software, without the Licensors express written permission.
Therefore it is not something that we can add. Even if we were to get express written permission, it would probably still not be right to add with its current popularity.
If this had potential to be accepted, I would have opened an issue on the GitHub repo to track the request, but it’s still okay for you to request here. Especially if you do not have a GitHub account.
FYI: During update I received the following:
error: failed retrieving file 'chaotic-mirrorlist-20251111-1-any.pkg.tar.zst' from cdn-mirror.chaotic.cx : Maximum file size exceeded
I thought that might be the case, but it never hurts to ask!
I hope I’m in the right place…I’d love to see:
JustDD
this is a great little iso creator.
Astroterm
This shows the night sky at your current location (from ip) and has several filters you can use to see constellations and more. ![]()
Looks like the latest plasma update boinked kwin-effect-rounded-corners.git again. Heads up.
A job is running, but the AUR is being exceptionally slow. kwin-effect-rounded-corners-x11-git and kwin-effect-rounded-corners-git both have rebuild triggers set for kwin, so it should be done automatically. Thanks for reporting.
Edit: They are now in queue to build Chaotic-AUR - automated binary repo 👨🏻💻
Worked. It depends on the upstream mirror sync speed used determine changes as well.
Astroterm is already in extra repo ![]()
The way that justdd is packaged makes it way larger than it needs to be, and that would take up a disproportionate amount of space relative to the benefit it would provide. I tried to run with uvx, but their project is not using a normal directory structure. I have fixed that problem and opened a PR for support, hopefully they merge it sooner than later. Then you will be able to run it with
uvx git+https://github.com/xxanqw/justdd
@latest would run from the most recent tagged version, you could exclude it to get the latest commit as shown, or otherwise specify a specific version like @v0.1.5-1.
You can watch for updates here:
Edit: PR was merged, uvx works! Updated the example since there is not a new release yet.
