Nvidia and Optimus seems to work fine in the Zen kernel. It looks like Nvidia should also work on the xanmod-rog kernel but Nvidia (and Vbox but that's not the main issue here) won't work on the kernel for me. I tried:

1: Trying to install Proprietary via Garuda-Assistant; fails due to optimus conflict ti says
2: reinstalling drivers; no change
3: found an option about this garuda-nvidia-470xx-prime-config. and that just made nvidia not run at all it seemsed
4: confirmed via optimus-manager --status that it wasn't running.

It all works fine on Zen

What's the build status of the kernel module, or the output of the DKMS make.log?

Why not use the solutions provided by ASUS NoteBook Linux ?

They suggest using supergfxctl developed for the purpose of graphics switching. It's available in a custom repo called g14 (works on all ROG laptops)

I am using zephyrus g14, and supergfxctl works better( it has additional capabilities like vfio and more). You can ask or discuss more about this related to ROG laptops on their discord server, including xanmod-rog kernel, they are super friendly and helpful.

PS : You have to uninstall all the other packages like optimus-manager and garuda-optimus etc, since they conflict with supergfxctl.

Their fix, seems to largely be get rid of all Garuda tweaks, which I didn't think would be the best option. I guess the fact that Vbox and nvida won't work on the kernel isn't a Garuda issue but a kernel one. Thanks

how would I check for just those for you for just nvidia?
I tried running auto-install again and it just says already installed. Is there a way to re-run the auto install for Garuda like happens on first install? Because I can only get nvidia to load their dkms on the zen kernel it seems
