Can't remove Distrobox

I reinstall Garuda yesterday and have been slowly setting it up including adding Topgrade. I noticed yesterday that during running Topgrade that something called Distrobox failed. I did a search and it seems promising for what it's suppose to do but it is not something I installed. I looked for it to uninstall it and there are three entries for it but none of them marked as installed. Since it seems like something that came with Garuda I'm asking how to remove it or at least disable it for now in case I decide I do want to try it later on? Thanks

There is no distrobox in https://mirrors.fosshost.org/garuda/iso/garuda/dr460nized/221030/garuda-dr460nized-linux-zen-221030.pkgs.txt

Just use garuda-update, no warranty by Garuda Linux if you use topgrade

BTW, reboot, its KDE

SGS With Topgrade I get to update EVERYTHING in one shot instead of having to do flatpaks and others separately. As for Distrobox it's not something that comes with Topgrade, I checked both Arch and Manjaro which I have installed using the same Topgrade build and Distrobox is not there. Can you check your link too cause it's not working? As for rebooting after a update, always.

Use wat you want.

Just checked in Google and that link still doesn't work.

Why don’t you post the actual output?

I’d at least try to do it without, using the officially approved way. You never know what kind of shenanigans sleep inside unsupported applications.

I’d say that that’s irrelevant.

It's probably something installed via flatpak, imho. In any case, it would have originated with you, @Locutus. It ain't Garuda's fault.

I know who built the original topgrade and who builds the current fork to keep the project alive and I trust both of them. As for checking both the other OS's it's not irrelevant cause that eliminated topgrade being the culprit that installed that.

@Bro as I stated above when I use the GUI for checking for Distrobox it comes up with 3 versions and none of them are installed according to it. As for blaming Garuda I wasn't, just had to ask here cause I was finding no other reason for it being installed. I've since created a issue ticket on Topgrade's github to see if they can help get to the bottom of it.

What does this command return?

pacman -Q distrobox

If it shows distrobox instead of "package not found", you can uninstall it.

sudo pacman -R distrobox

Good idea, should of thought of that. That said it's not showing as installed. Thanks though.

There is Indeed something going on in topgrade about distrobox:

You should always run garuda-update first before running topgrade if you choose to use it.

First time landing on the desktop after installing yes of course, but after that running garuda-update and the topgrade is a waste.

filo thanks for the find, very much appreciated.

EDIT:

config file now edited and distrobox now ignored.
