Can't execute Appimage, tells me I need GSettings but they are already installed?

Hello Everyone

Tried searching this but couldn't find anything.

I get the following error trying to execute the qbittorrent appimage.

(AppRun.wrapped:11601): GLib-GIO-ERROR **: 14:29:50.038: No GSettings schemas are installed on the system

My first thought was to check octopi for GSettings and found some stuff, so I installed what I didn't already have installed and then restarted. Same problem trying to execute the appimage.

Where did you get the appimage from?

Writing schemas to /usr/share/glib-2.0/schemas/ requires root privileges, so my guess is the app image isn't copying/compiling schemas to a user writable directory.

If you are just looking for a working torrent program however (without relying on any Appimages), Deluge works perfectly fine.

Also, why are you using an AppImage rather than software from the repo?

Lol I didn't think of that. The first linux distro I tried didn't have it in the app downloader thing so I went to the official website and used the appimage. Been doing that with every distro I've been using. So didn't even think of trying that. Thanks lol.

I mark-it-solved !

Seems like Garuda Linux has more going for it than other distributions?

Install AppImage Launcher with pacman
Using
sudo pacman -S appimagelauncher

Also make the appimage executable either by using
chmod +x Qbittorrent.appImage
or by dolphin
, selecting file and in properties clicking Is Executable

If .appimage is not corrupt it should run with
./Qbittorrent.appImage
