Cannot open software results from application launcher

Searching in the default KDE application launcher menu brings up software results from repos, but Discover gives an error every time I try to actually open one. Not a big issue and I know how to find software via yay, just wanted to report it in case I’m not the only one. Not sure what config/log files would be related to this, but I can upload any needed.

I know how to use cli tools to manage software, but I would like to have the option to open Discover (or some other package manager GUI) from the app menu search results as well. This is now the second fresh install of Garuda (KDE Dragonized) where I’ve encountered this issue which leads me to think it’s a common issue that the Garuda team may want to address.

The official recommendation from garuda maintainer´s is: don´t use discover . This will also be shown to you explicitly when you start discover for the first time.

Have you installed all the required dependencies, e.g. packagekit-qt6?

Is octopi not an option for you?

Installing packagekit-qt6 fixed it. Thanks.
Is there a way to integrate results from Octopi with the app launcher menu?

You should first look for errors within yourself

No idea, I don’t use that - i live in a terminal. Octopi is just a frontend for Pacman, but the right place for search modules is: System Settings → Search → Plasma Search → Get New Plugins…maybe you’ll find something suitable there.
