Yes, from what I was reading on this (and related btrfs) issues this may be the best solution, (only time will tell). Good for you for doing the research to find an alternative method to make docker more compatible with Garuda.

I absolutely agree. I’ve been using overlay2 on Garuda for over half a year now and I must say I much prefer it.
