Brightness keys not working! F2 & F3

My brightness keys haven't been working ever since using garuda. I do not have backlights

Press Shortcut keys while holding Fn key , it may or maynot work depends on model.

It doesn't when I use the Fn key

If there is nothing about it in the notebook manual and a search in HP forums does not yield anything, then it does not work.
With Lenovo other manufacturers it works OOB.

Especially with notebooks, you need to do your own research before buying to find out whether the manufacturer supports Linux or is only tailored to M$.
If not only your BIOS is new but also the notebook, there is still hope that there will be a solution for you later.

Install & try different kernels & reboot?
