I’m running mokka on my Laptop, heres the speclist
I have been running into the constant issue of the awful performance and lag, as i am writing this there is insane latency between me writing the letters and them actually appearing, my mouse also lags and opening an app freezes for a bit, i tried to run a vm earlier and my system froze if i tried doing anything else while running it, i dont think this is a driver issue as i have updated them, switching between wayland and x11 didnt also change anything, and it cant be my laptop’s fault as i was getting great performance on windows, anyone have ideas?

So we have a much better overview of your system than the few specs from the HP page.
The laptop should have hybrid graphics with an nvidia MX450…maybe an nvidia driver issue?
I was having this problem when I using hybrid graphics, my setup is Intel/nvidia. I disabled the intel in the BIOS and made everything run through the nvidia card and everything was fine. Maybe could be your case.
Is it that laggy in the LiveISO or only once the system is installed?

As for disabling the gpu in the bios, the bios wont let me do that (theres not even an option), its an hp so, definetly expected
As for installer, i cant really test, it lags a lot less there but it doesnt have the stuff that my system has.
hi,
maybe you try to install another Kernel for it like LTS or like nepti thinking a other nvidia driver for testing.
Is your Laptop Fan maybe dirty or something because its hot already and goes in slower mode for not damage the cpu?
i’m gonna try another kernel, as for the temps, i had to disconnect one fan because it was broken, in the process of replacing it, but i was getting good performance even with one fan (on windows)
Perhaps you are using the decaffeinated version of Mokka. Without the caffeine, response times often become very sluggish.
